UTI’s are fairly common, affecting 1 in 5 women. They are most common in women, but can affect an gender or age. They are always bacterial infections, usually E. Coli. It is usually diagnosed by urine culture examination.
Once you have a UTI, it is usually treated by an antibiotic (Make sure you finish the whole course!). Some of the best ways to prevent UTI’s is to drink plenty of water, wear cotton underwear so moisture can escape, hygienic sexual practices, and not using douche.
