Description: Piracetam, known as a nootropic (a Greek word meaning "acting on mind"), has been primarily used in Europe since the 1970s. It has been studied in a number of clinical experiments and has shown positive results in epilepsy, cognitive decline following surgery, dementia, myoclonus, and stroke. Piracetam has been found to increase blood flow and oxygen consumption in parts of the brain and may improve movement of information between the brain`s hemispheres via the corpus callosum. Piracetam is also useful as a long term treatment for coagulation, clotting, Raynaud`s phenomenom, and deep vein thrombosis.
