-DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), is an essential fatty acid metabolite which makes up 60% of the constituent components of the lipid bilayer in the brain, a protective membrane surrounding each cell. DHA is also found in high concentrations in the sheath surrounding brain cells, the myelin sheath, where DHA may be used as a source of energy.
-Vinpocetine is an alkaloid from the plant Crioceras Longiflorus. Vinpocetine increases cerebral blood flow, and supports healthy platelet aggregation, and healthy glucose levels in the brain. Vinpocetine has been reported to increase production of the neurotransmitters dopamine and nor epinephrine, and to increase the release of serotonin.
-Phosphatidyl Serine, a phospholipid found in the brain, has been reported to support normal glucose utilization in the brain.
-Choline is a member of the B-complex of vitamins, and a necessary building block for acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is a major neurotransmitter, found in many neurons in the central nervous system.
-Pantothenic Acid (vitamin B-5), is necessary for the production of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
-Pregnenolone is a steroidal hormone precursor which has been shown to positively support memory performance and to have protective effects on memory. Pregnenolone has been shown in many studies to have memory-enhancing effects in animals. It is reported to enhance cognitive function via the release of acetylcholine.
-Standardized Ginkgo biloba Extract has been the subject of literally hundreds of studies. Terpene lactones, natural Ginkgo phytochemicals standardized to 6% content in Cogni-Max™, help support normal platelet aggregation and healthy circulation to the brain.
